What style does JP Candela play?

House as the foundation, with excursions into afro house, melodic house, indie dance and tech house. His set adapts to the slot and the capacity, from a club night to a festival stage.

Does he take multi-date series?

Yes. He has played five seasons at Pacha Ibiza and runs the ĀMA Music series at Lula Club in Madrid. For multi-date series we will prepare a specific proposal.

How do I request a date?

Write to us with the date, city, type of event, capacity, expected running times and the venue's equipment. We will reply with availability and a written proposal.

JP Candela joins PLAYNOW: five seasons as a Pacha resident

PLAYNOW is pleased to announce that JP Candela has joined its roster. Madrid-born and Ibiza-based, with more than fifteen years behind him, five seasons in the booth at Pacha Ibiza and a label of his own, ĀMA Music, which also runs as a party series in Madrid. He arrives with 138 releases to his name and a weekly show on LOS40 Dance.

Born in Madrid, trained in Ibiza

JP Candela was born in Madrid and has built his career from Ibiza. The references he names himself —Frankie Knuckles, Kerri Chandler, Jerome Sydenham and Dennis Ferrer— explain how he reads house music: as a structure that allows very different interpretations. Hence a repertoire that moves comfortably between house, afro house, melodic house, indie dance and tech house.

The island is where the craft was built. He has played five seasons at Pacha Ibiza and held weekly nights at Space, Pacha and Hï Ibiza. In 2011 he entered David Guetta's circle of DJs and performed as official DJ at «F*** Me I'm Famous». In the summer of 2024 he was part of the afro series Summerians, with dates at Cova Santa and Playa Soleil, and in August 2026 he played in Barcelona at Sight & Valhalla alongside Korolova.

A hundred and thirty-eight releases, and a remix for Parlophone

His discography combines original productions, collaborations and commissioned remixes. These are the milestones that sum it up best:

2017. «Morenita» with Robbie Rivera on Cartel Music: his most played track, past the million-stream mark on Spotify.
2019. «Big Up!» with Sansixto on Protocol Recordings, and a remix for Cedric Gervais and D.O.D on Axtone.
2020. «Shake It» alongside Mosimann, again on Protocol Recordings.
2023. The official remix of «Say My Name» by David Guetta, Bebe Rexha and J Balvin, released by Parlophone UK.
2024 and 2025. «Atacama», «Thar» and «Right Here» with Doriann on ĀMA Music, «Musica» and a remix for Haska on Armada.
2026. «Obsess», «Worth It» with Bebbo and «All I Need» with MYDOZ, also on the PLAYNOW roster.

ĀMA Music: label and a party series of its own at Lula Club

ĀMA Music is the project that organises everything else. It works as a label and as a series of events at the same time, with its own series at Lula Club in Madrid, where the showcase on 4 October 2024 alongside Dorian Craft set the measure of the format: a tight line-up, a clear musical position and a night built around the catalogue.

Alongside it runs «Dale Candela», the show he has presented every Tuesday on LOS40 Dance since 2023, now past 160 episodes. It is a weekly broadcast platform that few club artists sustain, and it accounts for a good part of his reach away from the booth.

Five seasons in the booth at Pacha are not sustained by a record box: they are sustained by judgement.

What he brings to the roster

His arrival adds a long-standing headliner to our roster: an artist used to programming full seasons and to carrying a night from the first record to the last. He suits three kinds of booking:

Club headline slots and season programming, with long sets and the ability to build a narrative across several dates.
Festivals and large-format venues, where his melodic and indie dance register works on open stages.
Label showcases and brand events, using ĀMA Music as the frame and a proposal that stays recognisable throughout.
