MYDOZ joins PLAYNOW: indie dance and house from Marseille

PLAYNOW is pleased to announce that MYDOZ has joined its roster. In two years the Marseille DJ and producer has moved from his first releases to a Beatport indie dance number one, a record on Defected and an Ibiza summer inside the Make The Girls Dance showcase, the label run by HUGEL. It is a fast progression, and one documented release by release.

Marseille, and a definition in three words

MYDOZ is a French DJ and producer from Marseille whose sound now moves between indie dance and house. He has not made his real name public. When he explains his music, in his own words, he reduces it to three: groove, rhythm and emotion, with the ambition of building dancefloor moments that are «powerful and timeless». The description is brief, but it matches the work: clearly structured records, written to work in an intimate room and on a big floor alike.

The project entered its defining phase in 2023. His first releases followed in 2024, across Serial Records, Riythmica and Vantablak, and that same year brought the move that changed the pace of his career: joining Make The Girls Dance Records, HUGEL's label, with «Fogo».

Twelve months, four charting titles

What happens from February 2025 onwards explains this signing on its own. Within a year he delivers four releases with verified chart runs, without repeating the same register twice:

February 2025. «Loca», with Deron, reaches number 7 on Beatport Tech House and number 15 on the overall chart. Make The Girls Dance Records.
May 2025. «Red Flag», again on Make The Girls Dance, spends two months in the afro house Top 100.
September 2025. «Caje» reaches number 2 on the afro house Top 100. Released on Defected, it is a rework of Niconé & Sascha Braemer's 2011 classic, credited to HUGEL, Niconé & Sascha Braemer, Tony Romera and MYDOZ.
December 2025. «Pull Up», alongside HUGEL, takes number 1 on Beatport Indie Dance, also on Make The Girls Dance Records.
March 2026. «All I Need», with JP Candela, likewise on the PLAYNOW roster, on ĀMA Music.

Around that run sit records such as «Rulay», «Money Dance», «BATMAN» and «Perdoname», the latter on Cavo Paradiso Records, plus an editorial playlist of his own, «This Is Mydoz». His three most played titles on Spotify account for 3.4, 2.7 and 1.29 million streams.

An Ibiza summer and the backing of HUGEL

HUGEL's support does not stop in the studio. In the summer of 2025 he brought MYDOZ into the Make The Girls Dance showcase in Ibiza, with dates at Café Mambo and Hï Ibiza, two rooms that measure an artist in peak season and in front of very different audiences. In parallel, Defected introduced him as a «rising talent» when it released «Caje». It is a comfortable and demanding position at once: the label behind him is also the one that sets the standard, and his 2026 catalogue confirms that the working pace has held.
