Pablo Say joins PLAYNOW: peak-time techno out of Valencia

PLAYNOW is pleased to announce that Pablo Say has joined its roster. Born in Valencia and a conservatory-trained trumpet player before he was a DJ, he has spent the past decade building a peak-time techno profile with tech house inflections, a path that took him in December 2024 onto «A-Sides Vol. 13», the Drumcode compilation series. His career can be summed up in a line: from the village band to Drumcode.

The trumpet, the conservatory and the rooms that taught him

Pablo Say was born in Valencia in 1985 and grew up in Masamagrell. He joined his village band at the age of five, studied music theory and trained as a trumpet player at the conservatory. That discipline is still audible in the way he builds a set: through tension and release, on the understanding that a climax is prepared long before it arrives.

Electronic music came later, and it came from the dancefloor: the Valencian rooms Rockola and Barraca. Those nights settled his career. He put the trumpet down, bought his first pair of Technics at eighteen and taught himself to produce before taking any formal course. His track «Barraca Destroy», released on Codex in 2024, is an explicit nod to the club where it all started for him.

From the Valencian clubs to Drumcode

His discography is long and consistent, with releases on several of the reference houses of European techno and tech house. These are the milestones that map it:

2015. «Moti On EP» on Truesoul, the label run by Adam Beyer, whom he considers his mentor.
2016. «Children Playing In The City EP» on Elrow Music and «Party Time» on Toolroom, included that year on the Best of Toolroom compilation.
2022. «Old Child» on Terminal M, Monika Kruse's label.
2024. «Ruta / Who Is?» with Anna Tur on Truesoul and, on 6 December, «What's That» on Drumcode's «A-Sides Vol. 13».
2025. «Bring The Lows Up» on Diynamic's «Four To The Floor 46» and «Dime La Hora» on We Are The Brave, the label founded by Alan Fitzpatrick.

SAY MUSICK and INPUT: his own label, his own room

Since 2025 he has also released on SAY MUSICK, his own label, at a rate of one record every two or three months. Alongside it, INPUT High Fidelity Dance Club in Barcelona has become his home room, where he has shared the bill with Adam Beyer, Spartaque and Eli Brown. In 2026 his diary turned intercontinental, with dates in Bangkok, Da Nang and Melbourne. This is the profile of an artist who holds a room for years and travels at the same time.
