Barbossa

Barbossa is a Uruguayan DJ and producer, born and raised in a region deeply influenced by Afro-descendant communities, where the essence of Candombe, one of the purest African tribal rhythms of the colonial era, shaped his life from a very early age. After moving to Europe in 2004 he became fully immersed in Madrid’s electronic scene and spent more than ten years as a percussionist and resident DJ in Ibiza, one of the most influential epicentres of electronic music. He later co-founded Sparrow & Barbossa, a project that took him to the forefront of the international industry, with performances at stages such as Coachella, DC10 and Blue Marlin in Ibiza, Movement Festival and Brooklyn Navy Yard, and collaborations with Rampa, PJ Sin Suela and Becky G. Barbossa represents Afro Latin house in its purest and most authentic form: tribal percussion, ancestral rhythms and cultural vibrations that celebrate the richness of Latin identity.
